Dog and cat donation operates to the same ethical and operational standards as human organ and tissue donation programmes, such as those run by the NHS. Donation of a pet after death can help other pets in need. We operate a donor card scheme so that pet’s can be on the donor register.

Donation of tissues from deceased pets can help other pets with injuries or disorders of bone, tendon, ligament and also eyes.

We coordinate a national scheme such that tissues from donated pets can be supplied to vets across the UK. In this way, maximum benefit to other dogs and cats is possible.

Why Pet Donor

At a time of loss, some pet owners gain some solace in the knowledge that other pets might benefit. Tissue transplantation can help restore mobility or eyesight and these are two of the most important aspects of quality of life for our dogs and cats. Signing up to the UK Pet Donor Register is a generous and thoughtful gesture and can help save another pet’s life.
